The Global Sanskrit Forum (GSF) was established in 2015, originally as a WhatsApp group titled Rashtriya Sanskrit Manch, aimed at facilitating the exchange of Sanskrit-related information among scholars from Delhi University. This initiative marked the beginning of a growing collective passion for reviving and spreading Sanskrit learning in contemporary society. As participation grew, the forum extended its reach beyond local academic circles to scholars and enthusiasts across the country, eventually developing into a significant national platform. The interactions and intellectual exchange fostered within the group led to the realization of its greater potential — to unify Sanskrit lovers on a global stage. In response to its expanding vision and outreach, the forum was officially restructured and registered under the name Global Sanskrit Forum. With this milestone, GSF formally embraced its mission to promote Sanskrit education, culture, and knowledge systems not only in India but worldwide. A major turning point came in 2020, when the Global Sanskrit Forum launched its official website, inaugurated by Indreshji (RSS) during a national seminar held at Delhi University. This digital launch symbolized GSF’s transition into a tech-enabled Sanskrit movement, allowing it to host webinars, online workshops, scholarly discussions, and collaborative initiatives across borders. Today, Global Sanskrit Forum stands as a vibrant international body that connects scholars, teachers, researchers, students, and Sanskrit enthusiasts in India and abroad — including countries like America, Mauritius, Nepal, Cambodia, and Sri Lanka. With an unwavering commitment to its vision, the forum continues to serve as a bridge between ancient knowledge and modern expression, using technology to revive one of the world’s oldest and richest languages.

The Global Sanskrit Forum (GSF) is committed to the revival and propagation of Sanskrit, one of the world's oldest and most profound languages. Our forum strives to create a global platform where scholars, students, and lovers of Sanskrit can come together to share knowledge, engage in meaningful discussions, and contribute to the advancement of Sanskrit learning across diverse disciplines.

Central to our mission is the belief that Sanskrit is not merely a classical language but a living tradition that holds immense value for contemporary education, culture, and spirituality. We aim to bridge the gap between ancient heritage and modern scholarship by encouraging innovative research, fostering dialogue, and promoting the integration of Sanskrit in educational curricula worldwide.

To realize this vision, the Global Sanskrit Forum focuses on the following key objectives:

  • Organizing seminars, workshops, and conferences that promote collaborative research and provide platforms for presenting scholarly work.
  • Encouraging the development and use of digital tools and resources to make Sanskrit education accessible and engaging in the digital age.
  • Supporting the creation, preservation, and dissemination of Sanskrit literature, both classical texts and contemporary compositions.
  • Facilitating cross-cultural and interdisciplinary studies that connect Sanskrit with other fields such as linguistics, philosophy, history, and science.
  • Building a worldwide network of Sanskrit teachers, researchers, and enthusiasts to foster mentorship, collaboration, and cultural exchange.
  • Promoting awareness about the significance of Sanskrit in understanding India's cultural heritage and its contributions to global knowledge.

Additionally, the forum aims to inspire younger generations by creating educational initiatives tailored for students, including interactive webinars, online courses, and language immersion programs. We believe that making Sanskrit learning enjoyable and relevant is crucial for sustaining its legacy into the future.

Through these concerted efforts, the Global Sanskrit Forum aspires to become a catalyst for the renaissance of Sanskrit culture, nurturing a global community that values this extraordinary language’s intellectual and spiritual treasures.
