International Women’s Day: ASMITAA Editorial Team Honoured at the Third Global Vidushi Conference, Lucknow University
On the occasion of International Women’s Day, the Third Global Vidushi Conference was grandly organized on 7–8 March at the Malaviya Hall of Lucknow University, under the joint aegis of the Global Sanskrit Forum and Lucknow University, and concluded successfully. Based on the theme “Shakti”: Illuminated in her Full Glory, the conference witnessed the gracious presence of the Vice-Chancellors of four universities, the presentation of more than 360 research papers, the sharing of scholarly views by participants from over 15 countries, and the release of five books along with the March issue of ASMITAA magazine. The special attraction of March issue of ASMITAA is Padma Shri awardee Pithora artist Paresh Rathwa.
The inspiring presence of Mrs. Surabhi Lata, Founder of the Global Sanskrit Forum, added special dignity to the event. During the conference, 20 distinguished women scholars were also honoured for their remarkable contributions by Prof. Kapil Mehta, International Vice President of the Global Sanskrit Forum, and Dr. Rajesh Kumar Mishra, International Secretary and Editor-in-Chief of ASMITAA. On this occasion, Jyotsnaa G. Bansal was honoured with the Arundhati International Vidushi Award, and Dr. Nidhi Vedratna was honoured with the Anasuya International Vidushi Award.
During the cultural evening, the Flower Holi celebrations were inaugurated by Prof. Ashu Rani, Vice-Chancellor of Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar University, Agra. The technical team comprising Er. Anand Rawat, Akash Bhardwaj, and Gurupad Dhar played an important role in the successful management of the event.
Prof. Kapil Mehta, International Vice President of the Global Sanskrit Forum, who is associated with the Cancer Department of the University of Texas, said in his address that a nation is built through the honour of women. He added that Indian women have always been a source of inspiration.
